Our rigorous research, supported by both chemical and physical testing, has resulted in the creation of a high performance material with thermal insulating, soundproof, high temperature resistant, rigid, waterproof and recyclable properties. The high mechanical resistance and low specific weight of these composite materials, all patented by Carmenta, combine to create a product which is at the forefront of materials technology with a wide variety of applications.
The technologies involved in the realisation of our ultra-light materials are used in both the aviation and naval industry. The flexibility of the material with regards to its application mean that we can customise any product to suit a designer’s requirements.
Some salient points about the materials are that they are:
- Able to form solid structures.
- Highly Insulating.
- Temperature resistant.
Detail on Material Composites
The CLM range of materials consist of a polymeric core foam and two external layers strengthened with carbon or glass fiber. The different layers are fastened with structural resins. This additional reinforcement gives CLM extraordinary properties: high rigidity and strength as well as increased fracture toughness. The CLM range of materials are available in several thicknesses.
The TLM range of materials consist of an internal polymeric core and two external layers. They are insulating, rigid, soundproof, high temperature resistant and waterproof. TLM materials are available in several thicknesses, depending on the application for which they are required.
TWM materials, patented by Carmenta, are a natural composite material. Consisting of a core in kraft with phenolic resins and two external layers in wood veneer, all protected with a melamine transparent overlay film.
Technowood is a steam and water proof material that combines high technological properties with the aesthetic characteristic of the real wood.
